Three seats are up on Paradise Town Council for the November election.
The nomination period begins Monday, July 14 and closes Friday, August 8.
Any citizen 18 years or older who resides within the Town limits of Paradise and is a registered voter is eligible to run for Town Council. Nomination papers may be obtained from the Town Clerk Department at 5555 Skyway, Paradise. If you have questions, call the Town Clerk's Department at 872-6276.
I probably will not run for re-election to Town Council so I can spend more time with family. If one or more incumbent Council Members have not filed nomination papers by August 8, nomination papers will be accepted until August 13.
I have worked in Butte County since 1989, and I have lived in Paradise for 19 years with my husband Maurice and son Miles, now 17.
Some solutions I have been working on as a Paradise Town Councilwoman are also county issues, including roadway improvements, scenic corridors, trailways, tourism, and sustainable development, growth that keeps us and our environment healthy. As Supervisor I will work on the same goals for the Paradise Ridge and Butte County.
The county’s general plan update is setting plans for how the county will grow. I will insist on a county plan that promotes sustainable growth, safety, and recreation. I will follow such a plan.
The general plan should discourage urban sprawl, and it should not detract from food safety or deplete water resources. I will approve projects that will enhance the local economy and our quality of life.
I am a fiscal conservative and will not approve any spending or any budget that is over what the county can afford.
As Supervisor I will work full-time for you, listening to your ideas and working as your representative to keep our county in shape and to make it an even better place to live.
